Marcella Chambers
Marcella attended the University of Arizona, and graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Finance in 2000. She earned her juris doctor from the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law. During law school, Marcella was an extern for the Honorable Gary E. Donahoe of the Maricopa County Superior Court. She graduated from law school, became a member of the Arizona Bar in 2004 and practiced for two years with a civil litigation firm in Phoenix.
In 2007, she moved to California, joined the firm and became a member of the California Bar.
Marcella’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, corporate transactions, maritime and transportation, construction and employment law. This includes breach of contract claims, corporate debt disputes, and professional negligence issues. She protects the rights of creditors in bankruptcy, including preference avoidance actions, and she prepares various types of business contracts such as distribution, sales, partnerships and leases.
Marcella also handles maritime matters, such as vessel arrests and attachments, maritime liens, personal injury defense, and freight forwarding/NVOCC issues. She is a member of the U.S. Maritime Law Association and co-authored an article published in the Jan/Feb 2009 Edition of the Maritime Executive, entitled Requests for Ports of Refuge for Vessels in Distress – Considerations for U.S. Ports.
